with Gloria Goldberg, CIYT-Level 4
Sunday, April 26th, 2026
11:30 AM - 2:30 PM ET; $75
“The body and the mind are inextricably linked to each other. The condition of one affects the condition of the other. It is essential to keep both in an optimal state.”
-B.K.S. Iyengar, Aarogya Yoga
In this therapeutic class the theme of “tension” is explored through the lens of Iyengar Yoga therapy, addressing both the physical condition and the mental experience of stress and anxiety.
Yoga for Stress focuses on mental tension and nervous agitation.
This session will demonstrate how the therapeutic application of Iyengar Yoga—through sequencing, timing, and the intelligent use of props—can alleviate tension in both body and mind, supporting resilience, clarity, and well-being.
This workshop is being taught online. Local students are welcome to join Holly in-studio:-) Email infor@iyengaryogalehighvalley.com for registration information.

Are you a Yoga practitioner experiencing physical limitations or managing chronic discomfort, or a teacher seeking to refine your ability to adapt poses and teach from a therapeutic lens?
In this series both practitioners and teachers will learn to practice *intelligently* with the body, especially with common areas that experience discomfort such as the neck, shoulders, hips, low back, and knees. And because we can reach the organic body through the structural body conditions affecting the physiological body will be integrated into each session. '
Each session will explores how to adapt foundational asanas using props, and not just to make poses more accessible, but to reveal the *therapeutic actions* that support structural integrity and lasting relief.
These subtle, refined actions help restore balance, build stability, and reduce pain, skills as valuable to the teacher as they are to the student.
For yoga teachers, this series offers practical tools and deeper insight into how and why prop use works—so you can better support students of all abilities and conditions. Learn to see beyond the form and guide others toward a more functional and healing experience of asana.
